Nicole is passionate about helping anyone who has a child struggling with DMDD. After her youngest son, now a teenager began showing signs of DMDD, this mother of three began an exhausting quest to find him help. After numerous years of failed medications, she finally found the right medication combination that turned her family’s life around. Her son’s stability, thanks to the brain-based treatment, is what keeps her helping as many families as possible achieve positive outcomes. As a founding member of Revolutionize DMDD, Nicole tapped into her digital marketing and design background to create the nonprofit's website. Donna DiMaio Rooney

Director of Communications

Board Member

Donna has long been concerned about the welfare of children, so when she found herself in a mental health maze desperate for answers to help her son, she knew there had to be a solution. Putting her research skills to the test, from years of working in television and public relations, combined with an army of prayers, she stumbled upon the brain-based treatment. The science behind the treatment made sense, but it was the transforming result that proved its success. Knowing other children needed this treatment, she became a founding member of Revolutionize DMDD. A New Yorker at heart, Donna lives in Connecticut with her husband, son, a playful shih-poo puppy, and one resilient goldfish. She’s a children’s book author who encourages kids to be kind, authentic, and stand up to bullying. Donna enjoys discovering art in nature, traveling,  and playing her treasured baby grand piano that once belonged to her grandfather.
